Room 304, Sunday night

Angela had pushed the beds together and covered them with every pillow or cushion she could get her hands on -- if the third floor common room appears slightly denuded, blame her.

Of course, Min claimed a prime spot in the middle of the bed-couch-thing. And sneered. It was amazing how big and immobile a ten-pound cat could look.

She set out some snacks and drinks on the desk, then turned to trying to set up Marty's laptop to act as a DVD player. It couldn't be that complicated, could it? She bit her lip, wondering if she'd need to wait for him to get back from his trip to the store before they could start.

Finally, the disc loaded, and she let up a cheer as she waited for her guests.

"Not yet, but it's only a matter of time," Rory said seriously.

"Do you really think that anyone would want to see our lives in a movie or TV show outside of Fandom?" Marty asked. "I'm not sure a television network or studio would buy our backgrounds as a potential feature."

"Rory and I are completely and totally normal," Angela said. "It's just you guys-" she indicated Marty and Anakin - "who have bizarre backstories. And Anakin's only weird on this planet."

"If they made a movie about Jedi or something, do you think it would have a big following?" Rory wondered. "It seems like the kind of thing that would."

"Space Battles was huge, wasn't it?" Anakin commented quietly. It still felt strange to be cuddling Rory with other people watching.

"I liked the first three which was really the last three," Marty replied. "The prequels? Well the characters were okay but the general storyline was mush."

"You're a film critic tonight," Angela commented. "I still haven't seen the prequels. I think."

"The backstory for Dark Helmet," Anakin said. "Turns out he's evil because someone fed his puppy to a giant snake. How stupid is that?"

Angela leaned forward, looking for Vladdie. "I don't know, I'd be pretty annoyed if a giant snake ate Min. Though I probably would skip going evil."

Vladdie popped out and attempted to give Angela a big puppy-kiss before settling himself into Anakin's hood.

"I'd be sad if someone staked Vladdie. But I don't think I'd go evil."

Anakin glanced behind him with a sigh, but left Vladdie where he was.

"People do stupid things for love," Anakin commented quietly.

Rory leaned over and shyly kissed his cheek. "Yeah, but that's a little over the line of simply stupid," she agreed. "Oh, look, movie."

No, she had no idea what was happening. But hey, movie was better than woe.

That was so sweet it made Angela blush, and reach up to stroke Marty's arm.

"The main character's just about to try to get off the island," she said softly. "Brave."

"Go, climax and denouement!" Rory cheered.

Vladdie yipped and then licked Anakin's ear, because even large somber friends need kisses.

Anakin smiled and scritched Vladdie behind the ears. "Good dog," he murmured.

Vladdie curled up and went to sleep in Anakin's hood, and the others...didn't, because Anakin's hood was kind of small to fit everyone.

But they did watch the rest of the movie until Rory dragged Anakin off for radio. That's certainly something.
