UNY Dorm Room, Saturday Afternoon

It was Angela's 19th birthday, but she didn't have any plans to celebrate, really. She'd let herself have a caramel latte at work --- ooh, rebellion -- and was now flopped on her bed, trying to do some reading for her women's lit final.

Of course, Virginia Woolf wouldn't do her much good if she didn't make it past freshman year, but Angela wasn't letting herself think that far ahead.

"... was that seriously an option?"

"Little bit, yeah," Zero said. "But it would've been a hassle, and, I mean, what d'you do with the crown jewels once you've got 'em?"

"Pawn them?" Angela suggested. "Except then you don't have them anymore, and, yeah, not worth going to jail for, really."

[swerval_zero]

"Yeah, and, we read about this one guy who tried and decided we didn't have any blackmail material good enough to get away with it," Zero admitted.

"You'd pretty much have to have naked pictures of the royal family," Angela theorized. "Which would be gross. And even if you got away with it? All you have is bragging rights and some cool rocks. So good thing you didn't try"

"Maybe next time. You know, if Peter's not along. He has this thing about 'law' and 'order.'"

[chasingangela]

"That is kind of his thing," Angela agreed reluctantly. "Maybe just take one crown jewel. Like, just the scepter."

[swerval_zero]

"I always liked the globey thing, myself," Zero mused. "The crowns're all the wrong size for my head."

[chasingangela]

"And you probably can't get them resized," Angela said, and tsk-tsked. "Go for the orb."

[swerval_zero]

"Sounds like a plan. Thanks for helping me plan a jewel heist, Angela," Zero said brightly. "I'll be sure to mention your help to Peter if I get busted!"

"He'll break you out," Angela snickered. "See you soon, Zero."

[swerval_zero]

"See you soon," Zero agreed. "And happy birthday!"
