Angela smiles, a little tired from the trip up the stairs. "No problem. Though ... oh, crap, I just automatically came to my room instead of yours. I could help you back downstairs right away, or you could stay here for a while. My roommate is never around."
"I believe I asked you to homecoming. The answer however was a little fuzzy. Actually, I believe I was fuzzy and you were fine so... if you don't mind giving me a replay of the answer?"
He pulls out the note that he wrote Grissom last night when he was in class and Grissom's response and hands it to her.
I talked briefly with Ms. Kiddo, but much like your roommate she isn't around very much. Also she's technically out of the "business" now and I think I understand her reluctance to talk to me. I haven't seen Death yet, but I might be able to approach Grissom about this if I'm reading his response right."
Angela reads the note, nodding slowly. "I think you are reading this right," she says. "He sounds like he believes in ... not forgiveness, exactly, so much as moving on."
"Thanks for doing this for me. For you, really, but ... thank you for doing something just because I thought it was a good idea."
Her eyes are moist, and she's trying to stop herself from full-fledged tears. Sitting down next to Marty, she kisses him, gently, but full on the lips.
Marty smiles and lays back down on the bed. He gives Angela a kiss on the forehead and enjoys the sensation of her snuggling into the crook of his arm again.
As he drifts off to sleep, he can't help but smile and think that he should get shot more often if it leads to something like this.

Marty puts down the donut that O'Neill gave him on a chair and winces slightly as he sits down.

"So ... do you remember what you asked me, just before you passed out?" she asks.

She lowers her eyes to the floor, hating herself for bringign it up at a moment like this.

"Angela..."
Marty struggles to come up with what he wants to say.
"I'm the one who should be thanking you. If you weren't here..."
Marty shakes his head. "I'd never be on this path. So... Thanks." Marty leans in and kisses her passionately.

She eases Marty back on the bed, and when they emerge for air, they are both lying down, her head nestled in the cook of his arm.
"Mmmm. So ... how's this for a first date?" she asks.

"I can't think of a weirder or a better one."
He kisses her gently on the lips.

"You're falling asleep," she says, brushing his dark hair out of his eyes.

Marty sighs and slowly starts to move off the bed.

She is liking it very much, as she drifts into her own dreams.
