Their daughter was here.
All of the doubts of the last eight months, and the bizarreness of the last 24 hours -- and let's not get into the hijinks needed to keep the hospital staff from noticing when mommy went back to being daddy mere hours after the baby was born -- faded away, and Angela was left with perfection.
Marty was still asleep; even though going back to being a male had repaired much of the damage from childbirth, he still needed to rest. The baby, too, was slumbering. The grandparents were on their way.

Hello!
I'm writing to announce that our daughter, Abigail Q. Chase-Blank (Marty made me promise never to reveal what the Q stood for, sorry) arrived last night at 10:57 p.m. She's about six weeks early, so she needs to be in NICU for a bit so the doctors can make sure she has breathing and eating sorted out, but everyone says she'll be fine and home in no time. She has wonderful dark hair like Marty and weighed 4 lb. 14 oz., and her photo is attached.
And as for *how* she got here? Um ... did anyone besides us and Chloe wake up with the wrong bits yesterday?
Let's just say Marty's now had an experience very, very few men will ever go through, and I am very grateful.
Love,
Angela

Holy crap, Chase, that's awesome! Congrats to you guys, and if what hit you guys is the same thing that hit over here yesterday, tell Marty I owe him a drink. (He's allowed to do that, um, after, right?)
It didn't get me. Never does. Got Bel and Phoebe, though. And Logan. And Mars.
I gotta run, I have a long three-leg commute to school to get to. But say hi to Marty for me, and if I could afford to, I'd send something ridiculously spoil-y for Abigail.

Hi!
He's allowed to, I'm not. (Stupid breastfeeding.) I think he's going to drink the first bar he gets to dry, AND he's keeping all the fun meds they automatically give you.
Logan Echolls was a girl? Okay, I just need to laugh at that for a sec before I go back to admiring the daughter. We're going to try to bring her to Homecoming, if the doctors are okay with her being in crowds.
Good luck at school!

Great balls of frak, guys! Or girls or whatever the heck you are now. I guess that's one way to do it!
Didn't hit us, and I'm pretty sure Bridge's career is grateful for that, but did I mention whoa and also whoa?
And also welcome to the world, baby we will never speak of certain common room couch incidents to!

We're back to normal, thank god, though it's lead to some close calls and fast talking with the nurses.
I think it's the *only* way to do it. Marty might disagree.
Abby seems happy to be welcomed to the world. It's been pretty nice to her so far.

Yay!!!! Welcome to the weird, AQ C-B! (and every girl should have a name she doesn't admit to. Go you!) I'm glad all three of you are doing okay, even if Abigail got here a little earlier than expected and Marty's probably never gonna want more kids. I actually think that's a fair trade-off; eight months of discomfort and inconvenience for eight hours of pain. This just means that in addition to the stuff I was going to send you in a week or so, I can now buy many little girly dresses. She has to start her wardrobe off right!
Congratulations and good luck to both you and Marty! You're going to be great at this.

Thanks! I'm sure Abby will love going shopping with her Auntie parker. Just nothing dry clean only or I'll have to hunt you down. (She said with love.)

Ah. Good point... I'll trade in the Baby Armani.
Hey, did you guys turn into the guy and girl you were that one semester we had Criminal Justice? Or different people altogether? God, I loved being five inches taller.

Hi!
Thank you! The doctors say she's in great shape, just needs a little extra time. She's perfect.
We're going to try to smuggle her to homecoming. Spoiling ahoy!

Thank you! She is definitely daddy's girl so far, we'll see if the trend holds.
She's even cuter in person.

She's BEAUTIFUL. Omg, congratulations, and my sympathies to Marty, who I guess will be getting my inappropriate and intrusive questions vis a vis childbirth now.
So when can she have her first latte?

Thank you! And yes, Marty gets those questions. I get all the ones about the first eight months. (And do you spend all your time either napping or throwing up right now? I think that's most of what I did first few months.)
I figure she can have a latte when she can hold the cup. Not before. I plan to be very strict about that.
