Wednesday Afternoon, Room 304

After a morning spent scraping gook out of the mini-fridge in the assistant's lounge, all Angela wants is a nice, hot shower. That, and possibly some time in a decontamination ward.

There isn't a decontamination ward on the floor, so she settles for the shower. Unfortunately, after she steps out of the shower, she's confronted by the pile of stuff she got at IKEA.

The bedspread is easy enough to put on the bed; so are the lamp and the new posters. But the bookshelf and the chair?

She hopes someone will help her put them together before she breaks either the furniture or herself.

"The candy's enough," Angela says. "I was going anyhow, and I like shopping."

"Well, I really do appreciate it," Anders tells her seriously. "Now that Cally's all officially moved in with me and everything I kinda want the room to be at least a little nice, you know? And I'm still gonna find a way to make it up to you."

"You and Cally are living together? That's so cute. I don't think Marty and I are ready for that. Plus, Min and Camilla hate each other, so..."

Anders blinks. "You mean you didn't know? Huh. Thought everybody did. Yeah, we've sort of . . ." He blushes and scratches his nose a little bit, fidgeting.

"Well, I think ever since we got together, there's been maybe one night where she slept in her own room. Wasn't ever really a conscious thing, it just felt right. Plus, no fighting pets to complicate things, and I'm sorry 'bout that, by the way."

"I knew you two were together a lot, but nah, I didnt know it was official," Angela clarifies. "Fighting pets suck. But it's good we have our own space, too, so..." she shrugs. "Every relationship is different, y'know?"

"Yeah." Anders nods. "It's been official for about a month now, I think? Something like that. I worry that she's gonna get sick of me, sometimes, but at least we've got different stuff to do. Like that Viper up on the roof she's been tinkering with, and me down in the gym all the time. I dunno. It works for us, at least for now."

He rubs the back of his neck thoughtfully. "Did I mention that I'm really glad we got you back? Other-you was nice enough and everything, but she wasn't the same."

"I heard old me was sort of sad and out of place. Which is weird, 'cause I feel so home here now, y'know?" Anglea smiles and looks at her shoes. "I'm glad she didn't end up stuck here."

"She was, yeah. I only saw her the once and I could tell. Hope she's happier now, back where she came from." Anders nods, and impulsively hugs Angela again. "I know what you mean, too. Feels like home for me too, here, with all of you guys, and Cally, and everything."

Angela hugs Anders back. "Yeah. It's freaky, but ... home. I'd even miss the stupid gremlins if I had to go home now, y'know?"

"Yeah. I definitely know what you mean." Anders nods and looks serious for a moment, but it's broken up when his stomach growls embarrassingly. "Aw, man. I should go get food. Cally's probably wondering where the hell I am by now."
