After talking to Angel and John Crichton in the common room, Angela comes up to her room, knowing she needs to talk to Marty and really, really dreading it.
She calls Blair first, to see if gremlin rights have been respected. Then she dials Marty's number.
Then there's nothing to do but wait for him to join her. Leaving the door slightly open, she settles on her bed, cross-legged, and absently strokes her cat as she debates what, exactly, to tell him.

Date: 2006-01-16 03:50 am (UTC)"So ... my parents gave me this to give to you," she finally says, to break the silence. "Here."
Awkwardly, she hands him a smalll rectangular box, wrapped in red paper. When he opens it, he will ind this.

"So.. you wanted to talk?"

Date: 2006-01-16 04:05 am (UTC)"Yeah."
"First? You know I didn't know Jaye was going to make those flyers, right? SWe were just talking and she ... I mean, it's out of context, seriously."

Date: 2006-01-16 04:24 am (UTC)Marty thinks for a second or two and decides that now might not be the best time for him to reveal that he thinks that there's something really odd with the colorado group.
"It's just that Jack felt the need to have another guy around now that Kawalsky moved out and since you had a single I really didn't think it would be an issue. I should have told you but with the whole gremlin thing and... yeah well I just didn't tell you."
Marty looks up from the floor to see Angela playing with her hair and not looking upset like he expected her to be. Instead she looks distracted.
"But... that's not the reason why we're talking is it."

Date: 2006-01-16 04:28 am (UTC)This is really, really hard.
"Yeah. We might need to ... I guess, take a break, or something."
She watches for the roof to cave in as she says the words.

Date: 2006-01-16 04:33 am (UTC)"Okay," he said slowly, "I know things have been kind of strained since the whole bit of you being... well not you. I thought we were working through that. Or.. is this not the problem?"

Date: 2006-01-16 04:39 am (UTC)She jams her hands in her jeans pockets and stands, pacing the width of her room. "And while I was home, I was talking to my mom, and -- it's even less about you than I thought, it's about me. She thinks we're way too serious for high school, and I can kind of see her point. I mean, last week Parker was talking about kissing half our class, and I was actually jealous. That's not fair, Martin. To either of us."
She twists her hands. "And there's kind of something else."
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 04:47 am (UTC)He wondered how long he had been taking Angela for granted.
He restrained himself from flinching when she mentioned her mom. He held back when she talked about feeling jealous and not being fair.
He flinched though when she said there was something else.
"What.."
Marty coughed because the word seemed to stick in his throat.
"What's the something else?" he asked quietly.

Date: 2006-01-16 04:51 am (UTC)"I owe you the truth," she says, and stops short for a long, long moment.
"I cheated on you, while I was home. Not all the way, but ... I made out with my ex-boyfriend."
She buries her face in her hands. "I am so, so sorry. I know you must hate me."

Date: 2006-01-16 04:59 am (UTC)Marty stopped talking and just looked at the floor.
"It was Jordan. Wasn't it?"
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 05:01 am (UTC)"It wasn't planned. He was in front of my house and we were talking and ..." she stops, and gives him a level look. "This isn't helpful, is it?"
"I would never try to hurt you," she says, and winces because god what a corny line. "I fucked up. I ... was this the right thing to do? Telling you?"
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 05:09 am (UTC)"I'm not really thinking about helpfullness or what's right at the moment," he says softly.
Finally he looks up from the floor. "Why?"
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 05:13 am (UTC)"I don't know,!" she says vehemently. "It just ... happened. He was there and I got all flustered and my brain shut off, for once, and I just did it." She stops. "I'm sorry. I hate doing this to you."

Date: 2006-01-16 05:19 am (UTC)"This isn't working for us anymore is it?" he says softly.

Date: 2006-01-16 05:25 am (UTC)She barely restrains herself from squeezing his hand. "I need to be your friend. If I can."
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 05:38 am (UTC)"I hope you figure it out," he says trying not to look at her.
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 05:42 am (UTC)"Thanks."
She raises one hand, as if to hug him, then lets it drop. "I guess I'll see you in class or something, right?"

Date: 2006-01-16 05:47 am (UTC)Marty turns and heads for the door.
