UNY Dorm Room, Saturday Afternoon

It was Angela's 19th birthday, but she didn't have any plans to celebrate, really. She'd let herself have a caramel latte at work --- ooh, rebellion -- and was now flopped on her bed, trying to do some reading for her women's lit final.

Of course, Virginia Woolf wouldn't do her much good if she didn't make it past freshman year, but Angela wasn't letting herself think that far ahead.

"Parker!" Angela laughed, actually sounding happy. "And ... whoever is with Parker?"

"And thanks. I would say I wished I was there too, but then you guys might be in a Thai prison. With good cell phone access."

"No prison. Yet!" Isabel laughed. "Give us a few more hours. It's Isabel. Happy Birthday from merry olde England!" The last bit was said with a very bad fake English accent.

"Hi Isabel!" Angela returned, taking just a second to place the voice. "Oh, cool, you guys are all in London? How is it? And happy early birthday to you!"

"Anders and I came over for the weekend to keep Parker from being too bored," Isabel explained with a grin at Parker. "She almost killed us with her driving. But we're having fun. And thanks! I'm looking forward to it. But I don't think it'll top that party we had with everyone two years ago."

"Oh god, that feels like a liiiiiiifetime ago," Angela informed Isabel. "I should send cards to Peter and Aeryn and Anakin, too."

She grinned. "I'm not sure I would trust Parker on the wrong side of the road."

"I'd say something about how young we were, but then I'd sound like my mom," she laughed.

"As for Parker's driving, I just closed my eyes and prayed to every potential deity there could be to look out for us."

"Aw, we're all in one piece, Chase," Anders chimed in, taking advantage of his height to hover over the other two. "Sure, it was a little nerve-wracking for a while there, but not quite as bad as she's making it out to be. Okay, maybe it was, but still, all in one piece. Happy birthday, though!"

"Thanks, Anders," Angela told him. "I'm having kind of a quiet day? So it's really cool you guys called."

"How's England? Other than merry and olde."

"They lie. They lie like Persian steam-rolled rugs. I am an *excellent* driver," Parker told her, getting back on the line. "All the cops who've stopped me have said so! And we're having fun, we hit Glastonbury and Avalon, and the last known resting place of King Arthur this afternoon. Oxford and the rowing team yesterday." She grinned, then added, "Hopefully a cricket match tomorrow before they have to leave. And yeah, nineteen isn't the big deal eighteen is. Do you at least get cake and prezzies?"

Angela grinned. "Now I'm imagining cops stopping you just to congratulate you," she said. "And wow, that's an awesome agenda. What's Arthur's grave yet? No, tell me about the rowers."

"My parents sent a box," she added. "And I thiiiiink the RA is getting me a cake, but it's supposed to be a surprise. But he does it for, like, everyone, unless they bug him."

"The Oxford Blues are going to beat Cambridge by a mile, judging by the muscles I saw out there on the Isis yesterday." Parker grinned and leaned against the counter of her dorm kitchen. "And Avalon and Glastonbury are about three hours away, and there's a ruined abbey there that's just gorgeous. We had a great time today. Isabel is threatening to come out for the new age festival there in June." She grinned and swiped a shrimp from the box of take-out they'd gotten. "Yay cake! Our RA is nowhere near organized enough for that. But I was home for my birthday this year anyway, so it works out. Are you going to be in Fandom next month for any graduations?"

"Like mine," Anders put in hopefully.

"Our RA is a little OCD," Angela said affectionately. "And I wouldn't miss graduation. It's Bridge and you, Anders and Isabel, and Peter Parker and ... yeah. I think this is the last year I really know anyone, y'know?"

And in a month she'd be pregnant enough to feel comfortable telling people, too. Assuming the whole school didn't find out before Rory's wedding.

Parker grinned at Anders, saying, "Yeah, I know. Just about everyone who was younger has already moved on. River's visiting me next weekend, but otherwise, this is the last good chance I've got to see everyone at once." She shook her head. "Anyway, happy, happy birthday, and think of us, drinking and carousing here in England, possibly accosting soccer and rugby players later!"

"Yeah, and I didn't know that River," Angela mused. "The Winchesters still have a few years to go, I guess, but ..." her voice trailed off. "Stuff is changing," she finally said. "And accost an extra rugby player for me."
