Room 304, Sunday night

Angela had pushed the beds together and covered them with every pillow or cushion she could get her hands on -- if the third floor common room appears slightly denuded, blame her.

Of course, Min claimed a prime spot in the middle of the bed-couch-thing. And sneered. It was amazing how big and immobile a ten-pound cat could look.

She set out some snacks and drinks on the desk, then turned to trying to set up Marty's laptop to act as a DVD player. It couldn't be that complicated, could it? She bit her lip, wondering if she'd need to wait for him to get back from his trip to the store before they could start.

Finally, the disc loaded, and she let up a cheer as she waited for her guests.

Rory clutched Vladdie a little more tightly so as to curb his wriggling, and raised an eyebrow at Anakin. "This'll be fun," she promised. "I know it's not really your thing, but I promise no one will make you act like poultry,"

"But I have to socialize my reptile not dirty," he said, holding up Yoda in his tank. "So I think we're at a bit of a stalemate."

He knocked at the door with his free hand.

Angela hopped off the bed-slash-couch and opened the door. "Hey!," she said. "So good to see you guys. And Vladdie and Yoda."

She gestured to the cushions. "C'mon in. There are snacks and stuff, and Marty's out getting something to drink."

Vladdie yipped a hello. "Hey," Rory said with a grin, clinging to him as she stepped in. "Is Min afoot? I don't want to traumatize her via doggie."

Min was in. She rose from her cushion, puffed up and hissed at Vladdie.

"Minerva, be nice," Angela said, trying to sound stern. "He's just a baby."

She tucked her hair back. "She hasn't really been around dogs a lot," she explained. "Give her some time to calm down and she'll be fine.

"He'll stick to the ceiling if I tell him to," Rory said confidently. "How's she with turtles?"

"Yoda can totally go back to the room if you'd like," Anakin said hopefully.

Angela tilted her head to look at Yoda. "But he looks so happy to be here," she decided, for God knows what reason. "He has to stay."

Min was now sniffing at Vladdie, whiskers quivering.

Vladdie yipped happily at Min and wiggled out of Rory's arms to fly over to say hi.

"See, that's what I say," Rory said, nodding. "Yoda yearns to be a social butterfly on the inside."

"Eight," Rory answered promptly, taking Anakin's hand discreetly. "And I didn't leave my room until late yesterday evening, so I'm totally with you. I spent the day reading. I'm so boring."

"Awww," Angela said. "We were at eleven months on ... Thursday? The 16th, anyhow."

She shrugged. "Maybe boring isn't so bad. I read too, that and got my room together for you guys. And I went to the computer lab to look at scholl web sites a little."

"What schools are you thinking of applying to?" Rory asked, her eyes going wide. "I talked to Marty about applications the other day. Are you guys applying together?"

Angela shook her head, looking at the floor. "I'm going to school in 1997. Even if Marty could, I would never ask him." She sighed. "We haven't really talked about that yet."

She shook her head, forcing herself to let it go for then. "Anyhow. University of New York looks really good, actually. Especially for a writer -- you know, I can hang out in Greenwich Village and live at the Strand and everything."

Rory nodded, knowing about repression and how it was so very good for things. "It was nice ten years ago, too," she volunteered. "And the City is fun. Dangerous and stuff, but still. You should go visit little nine year-old Rory if you do that. Star's Hollow is only a little over an hour outside of New York."

Angela grinned. "I already promised to find little Peter Parker and give him Pokemon cards," she said. "I could totally corrupt all of you guys as kids."

Marty walked in carrying a bag of gourmet goodies as well as some bottles of what appear to be high grade booze and wine. "Hey all. I got wine and tapas appetizers. For some reason I thought popcorn wouldn't do the job. Did I miss anything?"

Angela shook her head, unpacking the goodies. "Not really. Min's under the bed. We had about decided on the Jim Carrey movie. Did you get any white wine?"

She stood on tiptoe to give him a kiss.

Marty seems to have a distant expression on his face as he gazes at Angela.

"Are we still talking about the movie?" He asks softly.

Angela tilted her head, looking up at him. "I was," she said, then frowned. "I think."

"But Rory's right, it's better to ... find out on our own. It just takes patience."

"Yeah," Marty said trying to focus on the movie. "I'll guess we just wait and see."

Marty then tries to keep from snorting out his drink through his nose as the wife talks about the new lawnmower.

Rory stared, and then giggled. "She reminds me of this guy at home who gets really invested in like, planning stuff and farm equipment and stuff. The guy from the grocery store," she added quietly to Anakin, poking him in the side. "We all give him that exact look the guy just gave her."

Angela grinned. "Maybe somebody's paying him to advertise stuff, the way she's getting paid," she said. "Ever noticed any mikes falling from the sky in Stars Hollow, like in the movie?"

"Not yet, but it's only a matter of time," Rory said seriously.

"Do you really think that anyone would want to see our lives in a movie or TV show outside of Fandom?" Marty asked. "I'm not sure a television network or studio would buy our backgrounds as a potential feature."

"Rory and I are completely and totally normal," Angela said. "It's just you guys-" she indicated Marty and Anakin - "who have bizarre backstories. And Anakin's only weird on this planet."
